Laptop Extra FAQsWhere can I find the most used laptop information? If I need to have my laptop fixed where should I start? Which used laptop should I avoid? Which refurbished laptop should I look for? Which used laptop warranty is the best? I like this used laptop site for obvious reasons. However check out my laptop information page for some good suggestions. I would first look for a local shop that can fix your laptop. If your laptop is older and the screen has either been broken or damaged or just does no come on you might consider replacing the entire laptop. Replacing the screen can be the most expensive part of the laptop -- in most cases exceeding the value of the laptop as a whole. In all my years of fixing laptops I have found that you want to stay away from the Compaq Presario and HP pavilion laptops. They are the worst laptops every. I do more repairs on those series laptops than any other laptop. Dell Latitudes come in second on replacing the keyboards. If you are looking for a medium priced used laptop I would suggest the IBM Thinkpad Series. IBM has a very nice tech support system. And although it may take longer than you want on the phone. They do not argue about warranty transfer information like Dell. Dells warranty does not transfer to the new owner unless you know who the previous owner is. If you have a bit more to spend I would highly recommend the Panasonic Toughbook series Laptops. They are not pretty laptops but you can't kill them. In the used laptop market I think that this site has the best warranty. Their warranty is a lifetime warranty. So even if you physically damage your laptop they will still fix it labor free. Just pay for the replacement parts. Not other used laptop company offers such a generous warranty plan. |
